Fast conversion to mulching mode: when the catcher outlet duct is closed off with a special plug (supplied as optional extra for this machine), clippings are forced to swirl for longer under the deck, and chopped repeatedly by the mulching blade. The finely fragmented clippings are spread over the lawn; decomposing quickly, the fragments turn into a natural fertilizer, adding moisture and organic substances to help condition the turf.
